An Egyptian author, born in 1880 and died at the age of 57. In his relatively short life, he managed to add treasures to the Arabic literature. Al-Rafei was an eloquent writer, as he would call himself and only a few others. He was very proud, and rightly so. His words have been revered by the most noble men of Egypt at the time, like Saad Zaghloul, and Muhammad Abdu.
Al-Rafei was an eloquent poet as well. He composed the words of the national anthem of Egypt used between 1923 and 1936.
